All Medu Netcher icons have been designed following a 10-unit height grid system, as some archaeological evidence reminds prove ancient egyptians did too. The writing in the present application is distributed along this same grid as well. By selecting this option, that grid will be visible.
Enabling this option will display the icons through the application in silhouette mode (i.e. without any inner details to emulate the Pyramid Texts, some Middle Kingdom noble coffins or painted Theban tombs, among a high amount of ancient artifacts).
Enabling this option will display the hieroglyphic texts and the single icons in the catalogue in reversed reading direction.
If you disable this option the icons with the Helper tag will be hidden from the Icon catalogue section. Helper icons are icons that are not real on their own in hieroglyphic writing, but were created to avoid repeating parts in other icons. They can be used to find related icons as well.
Transliterations are entered following the Leiden Unified Transliteration Standard as agreed during the 13th International Congress of Egyptologists in 2023. By enabling this option, the oficial font type Trlit GR Times will be applied to the transliterations. The updated version of this font can be downloaded for free from here. When a transliteration text is copied, the text added to the clipboard will be the one in latin characters ready to apply the font type if needed (i.e. "kA nxt xa m WAst" will be copied as "kA nxt xa m WAst").
